Pseudo-rigorous test
I knitted fingerless mittens, which I wear while reading in the evening. The yarn was good to work with -- it is NOT stretchy, does NOT untwist on the needles, contained no knots. However, it is not particularly rewarding to knit with like wool or alpaca, but I was not expecting it to be. It "squeaks", if that makes sense. I used bamboo needles for one mitt and it was miserable with lots of sticking on the needle. I switched to metal needles and knitting went much more smoothly. The finished mitts were ok, I wore them for a few days and then m/c washed and dried them. They got MUCH softer and NO pilling! I'd use this yarn again for a sweater that was meant to be worn and washed often. It would be great for cable work and color work, and for blankets. If you want a soft, snuggly finished product, though, I wouldn't use this yarn.
Yarn
The yarn was wonderful like always just shipping took almost 2 weeks. Wish I could purchase in more stores! Keep trying because your yarn is my absolute favorite!
HI Elizabeth - we are working to get more Premier Yarns into Big Box stores by conducting a survey to collect more data here: http://bit.ly/PremierBigBox
So far so good!
The yarn knits beautifully. I’ve been making a hat that just doesn’t want to turn out the way I pictured it in my mind so I keep ripping part of it out (definitely this OCD knitter’s fault) and the yarn is holding up great. I’ll by more for future projects. (Expert knitter)
