OK, I'm on my fourth small crocheted afghan with this yarn, which has to be seen AND FELT to be believed. It is SO beautiful and soft. Here's the super easy afghan pattern I made up for myself, and you might enjoy it too. Choose two colors. Get 2 balls of color A and one of color B. With A and an 8mm hook, chain 66. With A * skip first stitch and do 65 half double crochets. Turn. Chain one. * Repeat everything between the asterisks till you use up half of the ball of A (my work measured 7-1/2" at that point.) Cut A, attach B, and repeat the pattern until you use up half the ball of B. Cut B, attach the remaining whole ball of A, and repeat the pattern till that whole ball is used up. Cut A, attach B, and use up the half ball of B that you have left. Cut B, attach A, and use up the half ball of A that you have left. That's it! You will have a beautiful, soft afghan that is about 34 x 45." I did this with two apples and one watermelon, two oranges and one banana, two kiwis and one apple, and two dragonfruits and one banana. Of course, it's easy to make the afghan bigger if you wish, but I think it's fun to crank out these smaller ones as pretty gifts. No need to work tight; just let the soft yarn kind of flow off your hook. Fun!
