K.N.I.T. Study: Knitting as a Neurocognitive Intervention

Charlotte, NC: Premier Yarns is proud to announce a partnership in a new ongoing study with Atrium Health and the Levine Cancer Institute Department of Supportive Oncology. Industry studies show that knitting provides the best therapy in cognitive functions. The K.N.I.T. study partnership is a pilot study to see if learning to knit leads to improvement as it relates to neurocognitive function. Neurocognitive refers to how a person’s thinking, memory and thought processing is working.

“Levine Cancer Institute is very grateful to Premier® Yarns for donating knitting kits for the K.N.I.T. study. We look forward to sharing study results and furthering the science behind knitting, along with helping others learn a new lifetime love of fiberarts!” -- Susan Yaguda, MSN, RN, Integrative Oncology Coordinator
